Labiaplasty (Vaginal Rejuvenation)
A labiaplasty is a procedure used to reduce and reshape the labia minora or labia majora. Genetic, hormonal, or other reasons can cause significant enlargement and asymmetry of the labia. This can cause women to experience chafing and discomfort. It may be difficult for women to wear tight clothing or a bathing suit without feeling discomfort and self-conscious. Many women choose to have this procedure done for aesthetic reasons alone in order to improve their self-image.
Dr. Breister Ghosh works closely with each patient to define their wants and needs and pays close attention in order to obtain the most natural optimum results. After this surgery, patients feel more confident and comfortable wearing tight-fitting clothing and bathing suits and during sexual activity.
About the Surgery
The Procedure Both sides or just one side may be addressed in order to reshape or reduce the labia. Discolored and/or excessive tissue is meticulously trimmed. Remaining tissue is repositioned, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing and symmetrical appearance.

A sanitary pad is used for any bleeding or discharge. Patients should talk with Dr. Breister Ghosh about the physical demands of their job, but should usually plan for around 3-5 days off work. Patients should avoid physical activity that exerts pressure on the surgical area and sexual activity for around 6 weeks.
